Creative Flair

After a home visit to the UK to see family and enjoy the wonderful British seaside experience (think ice-cold swims followed by fish and chips on the beach), it was all speed ahead to travel back to Pokhara and begin the next part of the Black Kite Coffee journey.

Our Passion Ventures project officially began on 1st June, but the reality is that plenty of things have been happening up to this point. Our 3kg coffee roaster is currently being made in India and due to be shipped in a month or so. Meanwhile, we are busy searching for small business units to ‘set up shop,’ whilst working with talented local designer Suruchi Thapa to professionalize our brand. When she is not drawing and designing, Suruchi crochets a mean hat.

Our photo shows Varsha and Suruchi discussing draft design ideas for the Black Kite Coffee brand. Our core question: how do we communicate the ambition of BKC to empower vulnerable Nepali women?
