Visitors from Spain

In July, we had the joy of having a daily visit from a team of 25 high school students from Spain who were staying at a local hotel while they volunteered at local schools. They had stayed at one of our guest houses before but loved our bakery items so much that they pleaded with their trip leaders to come to the cafe every morning. We happily obliged! So, every day, they all descended onto our cafe, which was wonderful to see as our tables were full, our staff busy, and our orders flowing for an hour each morning.

It was a great test for our staff as we worked out the kinks in our ordering process. 

We have been working for months on our new billing system, which is government-approved (a requirement here). However, it continues to be a thorn in our side, as numerous issues have prevented us from fully implementing it. To date, it is still not operating, which has been frustrating

We purchased several garden plants to enhance our space, which has made it more beautiful here.

Things are moving forward well as we adjust to our new “normal” and make necessary adjustments.
